Canyoning-ulÂ
It is an adventure activity that combines hiking, rafting, jumping into natural pools, rappelling, and traveling through wild canyons. In the Brașov area, two of the most interesting routes for this type of experience are Cheile Orății and Valea lui Știnhoe.
Orația Gorge
A spectacular route, with limestone walls, narrow sections and technical passages alternating with water areas and jumps. The gorges are ideal for beginners in canyoning, but also for progression, offering a complete adventure experience in wild nature.
Åžtinhie's Valley
A wilder and less accessible route, suitable for intermediate and advanced levels. The valley combines abseiling sections, water descents and technical passages, in an isolated natural setting, where adventure and adrenaline are the main elements of the experience.
Canyoning experience
Participants learn the use of specific equipment (neoprene suit, helmet, harness, rope), abseiling techniques, water travel and strict safety rules. The activity is carried out only with professional guidance and favorable weather conditions.
Canyoning in these areas offers a unique combination of adventure, wilderness, and technique, being one of the most intense outdoor experiences in the Carpathians.
Introduction to mountaineering
Initiation into mountaineering is the first step towards exploring the mountain at a more technical level, where safety, the right equipment and responsible decisions become essential. This module is dedicated to those who have hiking experience and want to make the transition to exposed routes, alpine ridges and more difficult terrain.
During the initiation, the basics of alpine travel are learned: steep walking, balance on unstable terrain, correct use of hands in progression and adapting the pace according to the difficulty. Fundamental notions about planning an ascent, reading routes and assessing weather conditions and mountain risks are introduced.
An important component is the use of basic mountaineering equipment: helmet, harness, belay device, rope and anchor points. Participants learn the basic principles of belaying, rope walking and behavior in exposed areas or on narrow ridges.
Essential safety techniques, such as accident avoidance, team communication, and decision-making in changing conditions, are also covered. The emphasis is on gradual, unhurried progress so that each participant develops confidence and control in the mountain environment.
Initiation into mountaineering is not only about technique, but also about mentality: respect for the mountain, responsibility and the ability to give up when conditions are not safe. It is the basis for any future ridge route or alpine expedition.
